Interphase is a premium theme designed by Elegant WPT. Very simple and effective theme. Beautiful use of icons – small and subtle. Typography blends well, I believe it’s Futura used all around with excellent color schema. What strikes me the most is the hover effect of the main menu. I believe this is jQuery since the transition is vert smooth and not intrusive.

Containers and Elements

Excellent management of the columns: the upper half contain feature posts which stands out amongst the rest. Divided by post archives right in the middle of the page – but stops halfway through. An ad management sidebar with additional widget space that spans spans all the way to the bottom of the theme which is always nice. The older posts sit at the middle section of the page enclosed in uniformed post boxes. The extended footer contain larger boxes for optional plugins like flickr streams – which is very nice:

Inner Pages

The inner pages are equally appealling with standard thumbnail for each post. A “share” link that is customized to match the rest of the theme including a slider effect that shows networking sites sit strategically on top of the post title – which I think is a good spot. Lastly the comments template support gravatars with a nice conversation bubble for each comment.

Pricing and Value

The Interphase theme is included in ElegantWP’s package deal of $19.95 / year for full access to their entire collection of premium themes. Very good deal considering all themes include the .psd files, verified valid XHTML and CSS codes, tableless designs, tested in all major browsers and is compatible with all Wordpress versions.
