Proudfolio

Proudfolio is a dark, grungy theme from WooThemes. Ideal for people who would like an online graphic portfolio of their work. This means that if your work doesn’t have any photos – this may not be the right theme for you. The target users for this theme is mostly around artists i.e. graphic artists and web designers. The theme basically divides your posts into two main categories: your portfolio and your blog posts. The portfolio section is mainly a graphical representation of your work.  Sort of a gallery of your previous and latest projects. The posts that are categorized under Portfolio are required to have the following options to get the full effect: 1) a large image (the main photo for your project), 2) a thumbnail image (which will appear in the bottom section of the homepage), 3) a preview image (which will pop up in a lightbox preview when the link “view larger image” is clicked and 4) a url – the website url of your project.

The blog section of this theme is quite tucked in the background because the main focus is the portfolio. You have the option of the number of blog entries you want to appear in the homepage. Otherwise, you would have to click on the blog link on the navigation to see your blog archives:

Other theme options which are standard with WooThemes include: 1) a Google Analytics tracking code section – Google has a service known as Google Analytics where you can track almost every activity your website has: i.e. unique clicks, where your visitors are, campaigns, how they found your website etc. 2) Alternate stylesheets – basically activates a different background image for your theme – in this case are all dark and grungy, and finally 3)Feedburner RSS URL entry field – an optional field where you plug in your custom Feedburner url – to find out more about Feedburner click here.

Other options include: full gravatar support, widget support and an image resizer. Proudfolio doesn’t have ad management or multi-level navigation menu. The reason is – for a personal online portfolio, one won’t think about running advertisements, nor have multiple nested pages.

Proudfolio cost $70 for single use, $150 for developer use. WooThemes also offer a themes club subscription model where you can have unlimited use of all their themes – including Proudfolio for a recurring rate. To find out more, click the button below:
