Showcase Theme is developed by Web Designer Karl Barton. As the theme name suggests: it is mainly used for showcasing stuff. This type of website is often seen in “best of” websites i.e. BestwebGallery, CSSRemix and WeloveWP. And in case you haven’t noticed – the same kind of website such as this one. So if you’re thinking about running a similar type of website – this theme is for you. A couple of things I liked about this theme:

Sleek Design and Color Schema

The theme pages are mastered with clean smooth lines. The spacing between elements are even all through out the home and inner pages. The designer chose to use greens and beige making each page very easy to read and pleases the eye. This is especially seen when you hover over a link – it turns to a brighter green, which is very nice.

Extended Footer Area

Right above the footer are 3 containers for additional components. This area is also known as an extended footer. The left and right containers are fully widgetized. Meaning, you can plug in Wordpress components in here such as calendars, popular posts, latest comments, flickr photos etc. The middle container is random image rotator – which I haven’t seen anywhere else but this theme.
