RICH: the first word that comes to my head when I look at eGallery – another amazing piece of work from the folks at ElegantWPT. Ideal for showcase websites, affiliate websites, review websites – many, many possibilities. eGallery is rich in both aesthetics and effects. Let me explain:

Rich Aesthetically

Needless to say – bold red header, backed with dark grey wood is sure to wake the dullest viewer. The choice of little icons for ratings, comments, permalink, and post excerpt is perfect. The containers for the thumbnails, sidebar and post meta data is expertly spaced, with playful greys and white fonts.

Rich in Effects

The designer didn’t hold back on using effects for eGallery. The navigation menu has a mouse follow effect that’s very nice.  The thumbnail icons I mentioned is not just filled with fancy jQuery – but serves very good purpose as well: The bright red button on the upper right hand of the thumb when clicked - pulls down the post title along with a quick excerpt. The star icon, when clicked pulls up a the rating system right on the thumbnail. Very clever features because viewers do not have to leave the current page. Additional information such as the post date and the permalink are also presented as icons below the image.
