Citrus Theme is designed by John Ellenich and developed into a Wordpress theme by the people from Unique Blog Designs. A little history about UBD: They’re responsible for the designs for two of the Technorati Top 100 Bloggers – Jeremy Schoemaker (Shoemoney.com) and John Chow (JohnChow.com). Such websites generate several hundred thousand hits a month. UBD has also worked with other big name clients such as Yahoo!, Nike and iDrive. So I guess it is safe to say, the developers of Citrus know what a high yield blog design needs and how it should be. Citrus for instance, is packed with options a high performance blogger needs. Let me explain:
Control Panel Options:
Part of a growing demand for Premium Theme users, Citrus has the ability to morph itself by a few simple clicks from the control panel. Many serious bloggers want to get down to business and simply publish away. They don’t have the time to mess with code or get a designer to shift things around in their website. Citrus has the ability to contol:
- Advertisements– with the custom “UBD Block Ad Plugin” already integrated into the theme – you can edit and rotate your ad banners automatically from the options panel
- Layout Style – Citrus has two layout styles: a “Landing Style” – which is ideal for websites that sell stuff. And a “Blog Style” – which is the traditional blog layout. Both can be activated from the Admin Section
- Color Schemes – Citrus comes in 6 beautiful color combinations. Again can be switched by a single click in the control panel.
- Google Analytics – embed your tracking code right from the options page

Other Features:
As if that’s not enough, Citrus is built with clean code in mind. What does this mean? – SEO. Any serious blogger wants visibility when it comes with search engines. Pages that are built cleanly – I mean, if they’re valid XHTML, the search engines can crawl them faster and more efficiently. *This is more a requirement than a feature – and the folks at UBD definitely kept this in mind during construction of the theme. Additional Citrus options include:
- Original Artwork for the backgrounds – This is always a plus
