YourFolio is a portfolio styled theme fused into a blog, cleverly designed by Maximus.
It is a surprisingly simple theme that filled with just the right amount of amenities a working portfolio / blog website needs. This theme has definitely utilized the CMS functionality and the blogging abilities of Wordpress quite well. Let me explain:
The CMS
Believe it or not – the large projects section that spans right smack in the middle of the home page are posts. Categorized and styled in such a way to carry that popular Web 2.0 effect. An “attention grabber” you might want to call it – switches from your latest project to the next. It is a classic way to showcase your work – hence, a portfolio. Moreover, updating this section is as easy as updating posts. The theme harnesses the capabilities of Wordpress as a bona fide CMS.

The Blog
The Blog section is as expected – good archive, page and single post templates. The theme is left – handed sidebar, which is quite refreshing to see due to the high popularity of right handed sidebars. Good choice of fonts, excellent spacing and superb color schema. One thing I’d like to add are the comment and search form fields styling: it’s a simple, flat grey box – no borders or any background effects. Just a square box with enough padding and margins to sustain the labels and the input text – I think it’s brilliant.

Other Features:
I can see that the sidebar is widgetized, including a Flickr photo feed. Another feature I can see is the SEO friendliness of the theme. I say SEO because since the designer did not use a lot of image elements – the theme looks like it will be excellent for search engines to crawl. This is always a plus especially if you want good visibility. The theme also includes five different color options: White, Gray, Blue, Dark Green and Tan.
An online demo and additional information is available at ThemeForest. YourFolio sells for $25.00
