The theme with a funny name: Yamidoo Magazine – developed by Pavel Ciorici. First of all, I’m an avid follower of the Pavel’s WPZoom. WPZoom is a very useful resource for wordpress theme developers and web designers alike. Now with their first premium theme – it’s got to be good. I mean, check out Yamidoo’s pitch page:

Okay, down to business. Magazine-Style Premium Theme created for any type of informative websites such as a complex News Portal, or simply informative blog. Yamidoo may have a funny name, but this theme is as serious as it gets. Serious enough to have features like:
- Featured Content Section – sits above all other posts in the home page. Housed in a “slideshow”-like container
- Support for Google Analytics and Feedburner – Special third party tools that integrate with the theme to make web analytics and RSS feeds better
- Banner Management System – Manage your affiliate and advertisement banners from the theme options page
- Templates – pages that come with the theme that is different from the default layout: Categories, Archives Authors and Search
- Auto resize and cropping for images – very useful feature. No more wasting time in Photoshop resizing and cropping thumbnails
Stuff That I Liked:
Good Multi-level Navigation, Featured Content Area – with that “swooshing” transition effect, Category boxes – right below the featured area, and beautiful Tabbed Containers in the sidebar that house the common recent posts, comments, popular posts as well as tags. You will also notice that the theme is very well spaced. Elements are aligned vertically as well as horizontally. This is quite difficult to achieve in designing pages – especially if you’re dealing with dynamic content.

I found the diagonal background quite refreshing to see again. This style was pretty big a couple of years back and is nice to see incorporated with a professional theme such as Yamidoo (I still giggle each time I say it) . Good archive and search templates, as well as the author page – where it pulls author biographical information with their most recent posts directly below. Another thing I liked is the single post template – where the larger version of the thumbnails are shoved to the right sidebar – as supposed to the main content area. It is very appealing and unique at the same time.

Conclusion
In closing, don’t let the funny name fool you. Yamidoo’s features as so serious that it goes well for heavy hitter bloggers. By this I mean, power blogs that publish on a schedule, blogs with multiple authors, blogs that have major content with many categories. Yamidoo Magazine sells for $69 single license, $119 for five websites and $149 for unlimited.
