Metamorphosis is a new theme designed by Izzudin Helmi, developed by the folks at Woothemes. Built for personal blogs, Metamorphosis is sure to fill your craving of that oh-so tasty, well designed website. Very artistic and visually appealing, the makers of Metamorphosis had one thing in mind when building this theme – to be different. Let me explain:
No Sidebar
Even though Metamorphosis is literally split in half, notice that the right bar is not really a sidebar. In fact, the traditional sidebar is completely taken out. Both columns contain elements that centralize the main substance of your blog: the content. The home page swaggers your featured posts on the left, while the rest is in the right. This unique approach is a combination of magazine style because of the post thumbnails, and the customary chronological personal blog.

I especially like the single post page where once again, the usual sidebar is absent. In its place is the comments area. This unexpected design is brilliant because it equally weighs the significance of the conversation about your topic: Your subject on the left, user response to the right. Sort of like a reading pages in a book – from left to right.

Note that I’m not particularly fond of the archive pages though. For some reason, the single column that lists your archive posts seem too wide. But again, that’s just my personal opinion.
Rounded Corners are Back!
Just when you thought the kingdom of rounded corners is gone, designer Izzudin brought it back – with a bang! Rounded corners are seen all over Metamorposhis: the main container area, the little comments container – just enough to “bubblify” the theme, but not overly done. The result is a perfect symmetry between straight vs. curves. The screenshot below shows Metamorphosis’ slider / footer encased in rounded corners:

Delicious Fonts
You notice the title and subtitles don’t look like regular fonts? But when you right click on them – you don’t get the “about Adobe Flash” dialog? That’s because they’re neither. The fonts used are of exljbris, named delicious. The technology used is not sIFR, but this new thing called cufon. So the theme has these special fonts without the use of Flash – pretty fancy huh?

Other Features
Metamorphosis has excellent multi level navigation, gravatar support, widgetized footer, and different color schemes. It also comes complete with an administration panel where you can upgrade theme options from a few clicks – a symbol of premium theme craftsmanship that is typical from the works of Woo. And the best feature of all? It’s FREE! That’s right. Own one of these puppies for the price of none. What better way to kick start your blog stardom but with a face of a champion. The meta-morphosis theme is great. The only downside is that I still have problem getting the thumbnail pictures to show up on the home page.
Can anyone help?
